Whirlow Hall Farm

Whirlow Hall Farm Trust is a unique environmental and educational charity based on a real working farm on the outskirts of Sheffield. Each year they provide an outstanding learning experience to over 10,000 children, including those from less advantaged areas and those with disabilities. It’s a classroom in the countryside!

The 480 Scheme

The 480 scheme is a sponsorship scheme to enable children from the least advantaged areas of our city to visit the farm for a day visit or a residential stay. A donation of £480 will reduce even the nominal charge for any school where a large proportion of the children have free school meals or have special needs. Many of the young visitors are from families with very limited means and are unable to pay. Whirlow Hall Farm receives no government or statutory funding and rely on their own fundraising events, corporate donations and trusts.

480 sponsors will be able to nominate the school they are matched with, or we will match with one on our waiting list. The sponsor is able to come along to the farm during the visit and meet the children benefiting from their donation, a lovely chance for a story for internal newsletters and press.
