What is 350.org?

350.org was created to raise awareness of the issues and challenges of climate change. With the world talks in Copenhagen needing an extra push, 350.org is inspiring a new sense of urgency of the problems we as locals in Sheffield and as natives to the Earth will face if we do not act fast. To tackle climate change, we need to act quickly and in unison and there is no better time to unite against the climate crisis.

Why 350?

Their focus is on the number 350. 350 parts per million is what many scientists, climate experts, and governments are now saying is the safe upper limit for CO2 in our atmosphere. The current treaty advised at Copenhagen will not reduce the carbon emissions to the safe target of 350 parts per million.
